Do you often flex your abdominal muscles as you stand up in front of the mirror? Compare that to slouching over and sticking out your stomach. Which one looks better? When you have adequately flexed abs, you are giving them their best look. Do you want to know how to keep this look consistent with your abs? Bruce Lee abs are within your reach, provided you do these unique breathing exercises. The stomach vacuum exercise and Farmer Burns stomach flattener are two unique exercises to help you tighten your stomach.

Let us eliminate a few things before I go any further into these exercises. You will not get six pack abs solely from breathing exercises like these. Sorry, you're going to have to lose body fat through diet and exercise before that happens. You can get tighter abs with the help of a six pack abs routine involving planks and renegade rows to boost your core, but you have to start dieting and exercising intensely in order to get incredible abs.

The mind to muscle link is the key to making your breathing exercises for abs do the best they can. Through regular practice, you'll be able to walk around without consciously flexing your abs. Your abs will start to look tighter and more defined.

With this stomach flattener exercise, you just breath in deeply and flex your abs as you exhale.

1. Maintain a straight, tall stance, keeping your feel shoulder width from each other. 2. Breath in deep, keeping your lungs full of air, but do not expand your abs at all. 3. Push out your breath as you flex your abdominals. Make sure the breath you really release is as little as possible. As I make my abs tight, I open my mouth just a tad. If you want extra help with the force, keep your fists tightly clenched. 4. Take the next five to ten seconds to get your abs flexed as you exhale a bit throughout, until your breath is completely gone, then breath back in again and repeat.

If you've had any martial arts training, the feeling should be similar to preparing to take a punch to the stomach by tensing your abs. I do 10 reps of this particular exercise, but you can just do two or three at a time. If you breathe deeply, you might feel a bit woozy at first. This can be done every day to really develop muscle memory. Put this into your ab training routine as you get better at the breathing.

When you do the stomach vacuum, you pull your stomach in as you push out all your air in your lungs.

1. Start from a bent over position with your hands on your knees. 2. Push out all of your air. 3. Slightly rise up while sucking in your stomach but avoid taking in any air.4. Hold your stomach in for 5-10 seconds before exhaling and repeating.

I perform a slight modification as well, rising all the way to a standing position and slightly arching my back to work my upper abs. As a starting point, just focus on the steps above without standing up straight. I do a ten rep set of this exercise too.

Your abs will look a lot better when you utilize the Farmer Burns stomach flattener and the stomach vacuum exercise. Despite the fact that belly fat won't be spot reduced, you can just perform exercises like this a few minutes each day, and your muscle memory will lead you to flex your abs when you're not even thinking. With this method, you can get Bruce Lee abs in no time at all.
